Nevis, September 7, 2017 - Just four days prior to the arrival of Hurricane Irma, site clearing has been completed to make preparations for the arrival of the initial drilling rig.

February 5 2016 – Record low crude oil prices could become a major opportunity for the geothermal power industry. Over the past few decades, researchers have looked at various uses of geothermal energy, but drilling costs made it cost prohibitive for commercial use. Austin-based Thermal Energy Partners company is looking to take advantage of lower drilling costs to build a string of geothermal power plants across Texas and the globe.
January 15 2016 – On the heels of the Paris Climate Change Conference when all the countries of the world are focused on reducing their carbon footprints, the Caribbean island of Nevis is actually taking steps to do just that. Minister Brantley was joined by Bruce Cutright, CEO of Thermal Energy Partners and Principal at Nevis Renewable Energy Inc. (NREI) whose company works in Nevis on the production of geothermal energy.

THERMAL ENERGY PARTNERS SECURES PPA FOR FIRST OF FOUR PROJECTS
December 1 2015 – Austin, Texas-based Thermal Energy Partners (TEP) recently signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for the first of four planned geothermal projects. Acting through subsidiary Nevis Renewable Energy International, TEP and the Nevis Electric Company, in conjunction with the Nevis Island Administration, signed a long-term agreement for 25 years of energy supply connected to a geothermal project on the island of Nevis.
STATE DEPT APPLAUDS MODEL GEOTHERMAL POWER PURCHASE AGREEMENT SIGNED IN NEVIS
Washington, DC - November 25th 2015 – The Department of State applauds the November 20 signing of the power purchase agreement (PPA) between the consortium, Nevis Renewable Energy International (NREI), and the Nevis Electricity Company in St. Kitts and Nevis to develop geothermal resources. This project not only has the potential to provide sustainable renewable power to the entire country, but also may lead to the first inter-island electrical interconnection in the Caribbean.
